Askina® Sorb wound dressing - Sterile, Alginate CMC- wound dressing Description: Askina® Sorb is a highly conformable, sterile, primary wound dressing made from Calcium Alginate and Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).
Properties: The Alginate / hydrocolloid fibres react with wound exudate to form a soft moist gel. This gel allows gaseous exchange and provides a moist healing environment, conducive to healing.
Range of application: Management of moderately to heavily exuding chronic wounds
Indication: Askina® Sorb is indicated for the management of moderately to heavily exuding, such as - pressure ulcers - venous and arterial leg ulcers - diabetic foot ulcers - donor sites - trauma wounds - dermal lesions
Contraindication: Askina® Sorb should not be used for surgical implantations or for treating 3rd degree burns. The simultaneous use of topical agents,such as antiseptics and antibiotics with Askina® Sorb is not indicated. This is because some of these agents used alone may induce reactions. Therefore, their use with Askina® Sorb may reduce or negate its beneficial effect.
Askina® Sorb will have little benefit if applied to very dry or nectrotic wounds.
Do not use if pack is damaged or opened.
